We are often
asked what the staff is reading or has grabbed our attention, as we develop
our research or try to set our results in context. So if you are up to
a good read (maybe not) you may want to peruse the list. Over time we
will back track to add our favorites. You can also add your favorites
by sending us recommendations for inclusion. We have rated the sources
we add – just like the movies
Interesting and
varied topics are tracked in order to gain insight into our students
and the world they will soon enter. Some topics pertain to features
of the economy or labor market that will affect new college graduates,
such as the slowdown in retirement of the baby boomers or the increase
in outsourcing key jobs overseas; others cover generational or social
phenomena that influence the behavior of college students and recent
graduates, such as the formation of urban tribes, the creative class,
or impact of depression. We will continue to update these topics
as we obtain new information. We will also be adding topics as we
pull information out of our files. If you have information you wish
to add to any of these topics or you want to suggest a topic, please
contact us.
This feature contains
interesting facts, ideas, thoughts found while perusing a variety
of sources that come across our desk. If you have an interesting
factoid to share, please send it to us.
